A few years ago I started saving all my coins in a 4:1 scale water jug – you know the kind of water jug the Alhambra Guy brings to your house or place of business that’s about 5 Gallons and placed on top of your water cooler? The one I had was about a quarter of the size, and perfect for dropping my money into.
After a couple months of saving all my coins, I counted it all up and learned I had saved about $60. I realize that not everyone can collect that much change in a couple months, but I had made it a point to save all the change I could find, even exchanged dollar bills into change to help build my mound of coins much faster – and it worked! That’s when I got the idea of not only saving coins, but singles as well.
This grew my money saving jar exponentially. Within 1 month I had saved about $80. The next month I would continue to save all my coins and singles and occasionally throw in a $5 or a $20 as a surprise to myself when I counted it all up at the end of the month. Now I had saved over $100 within 4 weeks!
And I’ve been doing this ever since. I make it a point to use cash when I make purchases so I can collect as much change and singles as possible. I want you to watch my 2-minute video below and give it a shot so you can see and feel for yourself how easily and quickly you can save a good amount of money.
