Thanks to all of you for helping me tell Union Rescue Mission that I was serious about wanting to tour their facility, and learn how I can help the people of Skid Row and homeless people worldwide.
I always planned on meeting with CEO Andy Bales by myself, but when I told my friend Pauly about the meeting, he said he’d like to go as well, and learn as much as he could. This got me to thinking, why not ask if some of you wish to join us in learning as much as we can about how to help homeless people, both local and abroad?
I will be meeting with Andy at URM Sunday, October 2nd at 1pm. If you’d like to join us, I’ll put the address below. Maybe we can bring a truck load of ice cold water bottles or something while we walk down Skid Row and talk to the people. Let me know if you have any ideas!
Thanks to Andy and Union Rescue Mission for this opportunity. This type of experience has never, and will never be taught in the classroom, we have to go out and experience the real world ourselves.
