This weekend was very refreshing for me. I’m a workaholic so my health and social life take back seat to my business and security job, but this weekend was different in a good way.
I went to Santa Monica Pier with friends on Saturday, threw the football around on the beach and ate and drank a lot LOL. But the best part was just being worry free for a day. I still had to work a short shift later that night, but I had a good time.
Sunday I was exhausted and it being my only day off all week, I decided to work on only a couple client projects before calling it a day and sending myself off to the loyal Mooch Mobile to lay down and relax. I really wish I had a cumfy and large bed to sleep on, even contemplated calling a friend so I could take a nap on his bed. But I didn’t feel cumfy asking for such a favor.
In the evening I decided to call family to update them on my progress I’ve had this past week. First I called Mom and told her about my newest client offering me a sales job. This client is the top selling dealer of drive-thru systems in dozens of major fast-food corporations throughout southern California. Recently he was approved to sell in northern California and after I’ve worked with him for a couple weeks building him a website, logo even fixed all his computers in his home, he felt confident enough to offer me a job instead of reading through the 100s of resumes he’s received.
In case I didn’t make that clear, the good news is I’ll be putting in my 2 weeks for my security job this week and become a full-time salesman selling speaker systems, timers and headsets to the fast food chains I already frequent way too often. I will have a base pay nearly double what I make doing security as well as earn commission on all sales. There’s also a cell and car allowance every monf!
Moms was ecstatic to hear about such a great opportunity for me and was very proud to say the least.
After speaking with Mom I called Grandma then my Dad. For some reason Dad was especially proud of me because of my new job offer saying I was a born-salesman and he knew I would achieve great success through this job. Personally I think it’s hilarious I’m about to become a Homeless Salesman. Who would have ever thought that up?
What’s still embedded in my mind is hearing my Dad choke up on the phone when he said, “I’m really proud of you.” That’s never happened before.
This past week I’ve also hired 1 sub-contractor and am looking for more to join my web development team because I’m having so many referrals and organic leads from current clients and others. Even from the FedEx Office employees – they referred my 2 biggest clients to me!
And! I had yet another major cable network call me wanting to put me in one of their shows!
Well I guess that’s it. Today is Monday (and entrepreneurs love Mondays) and I had 1 meeting with a potential client wanting up to 4 websites, another client wanting at least 2 websites, and another client refer me to a larger company needing freelance work done.
I am making progress and a lot of it is because of you. All of you. Thank you for giving me your attention and respect. Thank you for letting me help others and network with great people. I’m excited to grow my business so I can help many more people while doing it homeless.
